A: Yes. The program is taught solely in the English language, and the English proficiency is necessary for the admission.
2. Q: How long does it take to complete the degree?
A: It is a four-year program with two semesters each year. Summer session is optional.
3. Q: What is the prospect career after finishing the program?
A: Academics and researchers in the field of social sciences and area studies. Staff for international and non-governmental organizations, and officers in general governmental unit with specialization in Southeast Asian studies, in sections as foreign affairs, policy and planning, etc.

A: Yes. The faculty also provide International program in a higher level. They are M.A. in Sustainable Development and Ph.D. in Social Science.
5. Q: Will I have any chances to visit other countries during studying in this program at Chiang Mai University?
A: Yes. The program provides both domestic and International study trips to widen the knowledge and experience which are useful for future career.

9. Q: What is the tuition fee to study in this program?
A: The tuition fee is 40,000 THB per semester for Thai students and 60,000 THB for International students.
10. Q: On what campus is the program held?
A: It is held at the Faculty of Social Sciences which is located in 'Saun Dok Campus', the main campus of the university. It takes 15 minutes from Chiang Mai International Airport. There are many facilities on campus such as banks, post office, convenient store, library, sports center, computer center and so on. The campus tram is available for free of charge.
11. Q: When does the academic year begin?
A: There are two semester in each academic year. The first semester begins from June - October and the second semester begins from November - March. The semester will be altered to start in August in the academic year 2014.
12. Q: What kind of visa do I need and how do I get it?
A: You can present the letter of acceptance issued by the Faculty of Social Sciences to the Thai Embassy or Consulate in your home country in order to obtain the 'non-immigrant visa'. Tourist visa is not recommended. Entering Thailand without the proper visa will require leaving and re-entering the country. For more details, please visit the immigration bureau website.
13. Q: Is student accommodation available?
A: The dormitories on campus are limited to Thai students while the dormitories off campus are very close to the university and are not expensive.
14. Q: Am I eligible for financial assistance such as scholarships or loans?
A: The scholarships and loans are not available at the moment. Students should be fully supported by other organizations or on your own.
15. Q: How much the monthly expense should it be?
A: It is approximately 5,000 THB for meal. The accommodation is around 5,000 - 6,000 THB including water and electricity.
