Life on Campus
The Faculty of Social Sciences is located in the main campus of Chiang Mai University at the beautiful backdrop of Doi Suthep mountain, lush with green forest. Tranquility and nature-rich environment make it a perfect place for pursuing study.

The campus is equipped facilities that boost an active learning environment i.e. a main library and several Faculty’s libraries with abundant printed and on-line resources, a computer center, and free access to wireless connection throughout the campus. Students can also enjoy leisure facilities such as sport complex and art museum
Despite its vastness, the campus offers students an easy access to major university’s destinations via electric shuttles free of charge. Students can opt to use bicycle for daily travel to the green campus. On-campus shared-room dormitories offer real university life experiences to get to know friends from other faculties. Outside the campus located numerous off-campus dormitories and apartments, street food stalls and restaurants where students can enjoy a variety of foods at reasonable price. Banks and postal services are available in and outside campus.

As an ancient town of more than 700 years old of Northern Thailand, Chiang Mai is a showcase of fascinating Lanna cultural identity that includes a delectable cuisine, distinctive architecture, traditional values and lively festivals. Just few kilometers from the city center, one can find pristine nature such as National Park, forested mountain, waterfalls where students can take leisure during weekend and holidays. Up the mountain reside people of multi-ethnicity i.e. Hmong, Ahka, Karen and several others whose livelihood and culture are interesting to explore.
